About Justin Poulin
Justin Poulin is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Beyond Clean. He has over 20 years in the Medical/Surgical industry both as a Registered Nurse, Sales Executive and Podcast Host. He is an active supporter and participant in Regional AHRMM and IAHCSMM chapters and has presented educational programs at both the AORN and IAHCSMM annual national conferences. Justin is the host of several healthcare podcasts including the Beyond Clean Podcast which focuses on important topics, trends, and innovations in Sterile Processing. His other podcast projects include First Case (Operating Room), Power Supply (Purchasing & Supply Chain) and Transmission Control (Infection Control).
About Dr. Muscarella
Dr. Muscarella is an independent safety expert who advises hospitals, manufacturers and others, including the public, about medical errors, the safety of medical devices, and the causes of infections in healthcare facilities, among other topics. His knowledge and expertise in hospital safety are internationally recognized. In 2013 Lawrence F Muscarella, PhD, founded LFM Healthcare Solutions, LLC — an independent safety and quality improvement company that advises hospitals, manufacturers and consumers.
Profile
Marc wanted to be an epidemiologist as a teenager and was first introduced to infection prevention when he performed DNA fingerprinting of multidrug resistant organisms for research activities, surveillance and outbreak investigations while in graduate school. He became an infection preventionist, a research epidemiologist and ultimately a corporate director of infection prevention and quality for a multi-hospital system. Marc served APIC at the local and national level, has published over 50 articles and served on the editorial board of the American Journal of Infection Control for a decade.
Marc now serves as PDI’s Clinical Science Liaison (CSL), for the Central Region-14 states across the Midwest.

Why I love what I do
I believe that infection prevention is 5% knowing what to do and 95% figuring out how to get it done. The role of the CSL at PDI is a combination of knowing the science, teaching it to others and helping them through the implementation process. There is something truly rewarding in helping multiple healthcare organizations achieve their goals of safer, better patient care.
